About Us

DIANA BANG

Diana Bang started Paperlattes in 2019.  She has always been passionate about the arts ever since she was a little girl. She has tried almost every type of crafting imaginable and has always been fascinated with colors and textures.

Placing her creative interests aside, Diana attended college at the USC Marshall School of Business and graduated magna cum laude with a concentration in Finance. After undergrad, she did a stint as a corporate financial analyst and while she was good at numbers, her passions always led her back to her artistic side. Eventually, she followed her heart and went on to become a professionally trained chef, graduating from the Le Cordon Bleu culinary program. She went on to combine her entrepreneurial spirit for business and passion for the arts, by successfully starting and selling two restaurants.

Soon after, Diana had two boys, about 18 months apart! As a creative outlet, she started selling decorated fondant sugar cookies on Etsy, and helped her friends with their kids’ birthday parties… and that is how Paperlattes was born. After many career changes, she feels as if she has finally found her perfect niche job. Through Paperlattes, Diana is able to utilize her creative passions towards one main purposeful goal of producing unique and personal party designs and experiences. She finds the most joy in seeing her designs come to life and in being able to be a part of so many important life celebrations through her creativity.

Diana is an Angeleno, born and raised, and has lived in LA her entire life. She loves casual, sunny So-Cal and would perpetually be in her cotton shirts and jean shorts if she could. In her spare time, you’ll find her hanging with her two young boys, playing Legos, shopping at Target, or getting ice cream at your local Thrifty’s. Right around sunset, you may also catch her with her hubs on their patio, enjoying the breeze, the view, and an ice cold beer!

Meet the Team

  • David Bang

David (Diana’s husband) got forced into the event industry by marriage.  Luckily, David has always been an entrepreneur and has had a natural knack for working with his hands and managing projects and people.  A UMich graduate, he worked in the business finance industry for many years after college but decided to take the plunge with his wife to become a small business owner.  Paperlattes is just one of the businesses that he manages on a day-to-day basis.  He is the man behind the scenes that makes the operations run and go smoothly.  His definition of a successful business is a "well-oiled machine!”

  • Marian Kim

Marian is currently the Senior Event Planner of Paperlattes. She met Diana and David in her teens through a previous job, and she came on board with Paperlattes when Diana reached out for event assistance on the weekends. She offered to help out as an unpaid intern, and has been with the company since! Marian never thought she would be in the event industry, but has grown to love it. She loves being able to experience the planning process and see the designs come to life every weekend. She currently attends USC with a full scholarship as an Accountant major. In her free time, you will find her at home watching dramas and eating snacks. The way to her heart is Asian food, especially sushi (and this is really how Diana persuaded her to work at Paperlattes).

  • Alex Kang

Alex always had a raw talent for the arts, ever since he could remember. He received a full scholarship to Pasadena ArtCenter where he studied traditional and modern digital mediums, but fell in love with oils, watercolors, and acrylics.  He apprenticed under a renowned airbrush artist following graduation but eventually came to realize that he wanted to create for himself.  At Paperlattes, he is one of the core managing members and does everything from building, designing, and engineering our setups, to creating custom artwork for some of our clientele, and more.  He is also called the "MacGyver" of the team because he can make anything happen on the fly!
